Pastor’s Note for February 2025
Dear Church Family,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! As we step into February, our journey through the Christian year continues to invite us into deeper discipleship, reflection, and love. This month is often associated with love—Valentine’s Day reminds us of human relationships, but as people of faith, we are called to reflect on the greatest love of all: God’s love for us in Christ Jesus.
John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, spoke often of “practical divinity”—a faith that is lived out in love and service. In 1 John 4:19, we are reminded, “We love because He first loved us.” This love is not just a feeling but a commitment to serve, encourage, and uplift one another in Christian community. How can we embody Christ’s love in our church, families, and community this month?
As we move through this month, may we remember that God’s love is unchanging. Whether we find ourselves on mountaintops or in valleys, God’s presence sustains us. Let us seek to love one another well, to extend grace, and to live as Christ’s disciples in all that we do. May God bless you and keep you, now and always.
Men’s Bible Study meets every Monday at 6 pm. I am sure they would love to have you join them if you are able. Women’s Bible Study is on Tuesdays at 1 pm. Together on Tuesday will serve a community meal of ham, pinto beans and mashed potatoes at 4:30 – 6 on February 11th. Getting Ahead continues to meet on Wednesday’s from noon to 2:30. Children meet from 3:30 – 5 on Wednesday and Youth will meet on the 16th at 5:30. I am excited to embark on a ten-day journey through Turkey and Greece in February, following the “Journeys of Paul.” I look forward to returning with a wealth of pictures, stories, and insights to enrich and inspire your own faith journey.
In Christ’s Love,

Rev. Candace
