Malvern FUMC Family,
As we step into September, we are reminded of the changing seasons and the rhythms of life that God so graciously provides. Just as the leaves begin to change, we are invited to reflect on the transformations happening within our own spiritual lives. September brings a time of new beginnings—a perfect opportunity to refocus our hearts and minds on the work that God is doing within and through us.
This month, I encourage you to join us in worship, fellowship, and service as we continue growing together as a faith community. Let’s embrace the opportunities before us to deepen our relationship with God and live out our faith meaningfully. A couple of these opportunities include serving meals to our local High School football players and the Magnet Cove band members.
We are also thrilled to welcome back all our friends and family for Homecoming on September 22nd! We will gather for a worship service, followed by a group picture and a potluck meal. It will be a time of celebration, fellowship, and reminiscing—an occasion to reconnect with one another and with the rich heritage of our church.
Over the past six weeks, I’ve been preaching from the book of Ephesians, which has been a powerful journey through Paul’s teachings. I am excited to share that in February, I will be traveling to Greece and Turkey on a trip sponsored by the Arkansas Methodist Foundation. This has been a long-held dream of mine, and I believe it will enhance my understanding and bring new insights to my preaching and teaching.
When I return, I plan to lead a Bible study focusing on the travels of Paul, complete with plenty of photos from my trip. I hope this study will enrich our understanding of the Apostle Paul’s journeys and his impact on the early church.
Let us move into this month with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation for all that God has in store for us. I look forward to seeing you in worship and celebrating together during Homecoming!
Blessings,
Rev. Candace
