August 2024 Newsletter

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! It is with great joy and gratitude that I write to you as your new pastor. I am honored and blessed to join this wonderful community of faith, and I look forward to walking this spiritual journey with each of you.

As we embark on this new chapter together, I am reminded of the words from Isaiah 43:19, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” God is indeed doing a new thing among us, and I am excited to see how He will work in and through us in the days ahead.

One of my top priorities is to get to know each of you personally. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be reaching out to schedule visits and gatherings. I encourage you to share your stories, hopes, and dreams for our church. Your insights and experiences are invaluable as we seek to grow together in faith and service. I would appreciate it if you wrote out your thoughts and answers so I can refer to them as I learn about your community. I want to know a few answers to these questions as we get to know each other.

1. Who are the people hurting the worst in our community?

2. What have you achieved together as a church?

3. What is the reason that you live here and worship with us?

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome I have received from all of you. Your kindness and hospitality have made my transition smooth and joyful. I am excited about the future of Malvern First United Methodist Church and am confident that, together, we will continue to grow in faith, hope, and love.

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Blessings,

Rev. Candace
