Psalm 31:1 “In you, O Lord, I seek refuge; let me never put you to shame; in your righteousness, deliver me!”
The rush of the Christmas Season is finally over, and we think “Whew, now we can relax”. Not to fear, Easter is coming in March so we barely can get our breath before we have to start planning for the Season of Lent and Easter. I suspect that Easter will be different for us this year at the church. That is not necessarily a bad thing just changing from the past year’s events.
I hope we can use this slower season in church life to reflect on what is important to us. Is God calling us to be busy all the time? I suspect that God wants us to be in a relationship with God’s own self more than He wants us to be busy. A slower pace does not mean a less meaningful pace. Let us take time to be Holy. To sit with God in the sacred spaces. Just as Jesus took time to rest, we too can take time to slow down and reflect on what it means to be Children of God.
