Radical Hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13). “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

On Sunday, I preached about the need for us to wake up. Pay attention to what is happening in our world, our church. Today, I am going to talk about a radical hope. A hope that we can overcome the dangers and struggles that are facing our church. We are making some hard decisions and it isn’t easy.

This is where the radical hope come in to play. I have a radical hope that many of you who are reading this newsletter will step up and start volunteering with the youth and children even if yours are long grown. Remember back when your children were growing up. I am convinced that there were older folks helping guide your children in growing their faith. We still need every one of every age to help guide the lives of our children and youth. I pray that we all come together as one church to make this church truly reflect the face of God.

Blessings,

Rev. Dr. Candace Barron
