I watched children across our entire nation walk out of their schools for 17 minutes in solidarity with the 17 people killed last month in Parkland, Florida. I heard a lot of negative statements coming from adults, saying things like “those kids need to be in class learning”. I thought it was admirable of the kids for taking a stand and learning a hands-on lesson about Civics and the First Amendment. You might not agree with their stance on gun control. We can have that debate another time but you have to appreciate that these kids have the right to speak out. Adults have been stalemated over this issue since the shooting at Columbine. We have not stepped up and fixed the problem. I guess that leaves the next generation to do what we failed to do. God knows we need them to fix it.

Other comments about taking prayer out of school were also out of place unless you don’t think people prayed at First Baptist Church Sutherland Springs, Texas or what about the church in Charleston South Carolina at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church?
